There are a couple reasons I put easier in quotations and that's because some people have the genetics of the rest of their family and how much parents/guardians pushed their kids to be active and play sports. All I'm saying is when young kids have the genetics of their parents whom are professional sports players; they have an advantage over someone who has parents who have never played sports in their lives.
Determination/Focus:
No one, and I repeat, NO ONE can become a good athlete without any determination or focus because if you don't, then that person will slack off and lack motivation for becoming anything. Determination has another meaning in my eyes, which is drive. Having more drive in becoming an athlete or basically anything can give you edge on the others trying to surpass you. In my opinion, the definition of determination is having the willpower or having the drive to succeed no matter the costs. Focus. Are you focusing? Having the focus on becoming an athlete is very essential because becoming distracted can lead you in the total opposite direction. Such distractions include: Soda, fatty foods, procrastinating, and drugs especially. Keeping focused will give you a heightened advantage over the competition.
Strength:
I admit, there are some sports that don't need as much strength and conditioning as others, but why not try to become better than the competition in all aspects? Strength is the ability to create high levels of force in a short period; not be confused with strength endurance, which is for an elongated time. Conditioning can lead into strength in a small fashion because the more the more you condition your body, it becomes stronger. Building strength and conditioning is essential for becoming an athlete. If one is looking a position on a sport's team or in a contest of some sort, then that person needs to add strength and conditioning workout into their daily life.
Hand/Eye Coordination:
Coordination by itself is a very complex/essential skill to possess because if a person doesn't have it, then it will be that much more difficult to become an athlete. Coordination is basically how well a person can react or respond to force coming towards you. For the lack of better words, Coordination is very difficult. Hand/Eye coordination is well a person's eyes and hands can work together to find the right spot at the same time. For example, in baseball a pitcher is throwing a 90 MPH fastball. Depending on how well your hand/eye coordination is with the bat in your hands will depict your ability to time it right to hit the ball. An example of using all three in a case would be a wide receiver in professional football. In the NFL, a receiver needs determination/focus because studying the routes and having the drive to win will help. A receiver, without a doubt needs strength and usually a bunch of it. If the receiver wants to get off the press coverage at the beginning of a play, then he/she will work out constantly to become stronger and fit. Last, but not least, a receiver definitely needs hand/eye coordination because if he/she can't see the ball into their hands then staying in the NFL will be extremely difficult.
